Dear Children Around the World!
Africa is a rare country in our series, but this time we’re travelling all the way to Rwanda, in the heart of the southern continent. In the morning, you’ll find out whether it’s easier to get to school in this small country – which has endured much suffering but has managed to regenerate itself – or to meet the animals of the famous “Big Five”, the iconic five of African safaris. You’ll also get to try out the games Rwandan children play and see live performances of one of the country’s most important arts: dance. During the morning, we will also be joined by the social enterprise Hint of Africa, whose products will help women in Rwanda.
Programme
from 9:30 – Arrival, registration, collective creative work
10:00-10:20 – Interactive presentation on Rwanda
10:20-10:30 – Rwandan dance show
10:40-12:30 – Rwanda-related craft activities
The event will be streamed online on our Facebook page and will be accompanied by video and photos, which will be posted on the Gallery, the partner institution’s website and other social media platforms. By participating in the programme, you agree that recordings may be made and used.
